How much does Azure Virtual Desktop cost?
AVD costs include Azure compute (the virtual machines running your desktops) plus Microsoft 365 licensing. For a typical user, expect $50-150/month depending on performance needs. We'll size it appropriately so you're not overpaying.

Will there be downtime?
For most business applications, yes. Word processing, spreadsheets, email, line-of-business apps all work smoothly. Video editing or CAD? Probably not ideal. We'll assess your workloads and be honest about what fits.

What happens if the internet goes down?
No internet means no AVD. This is the tradeoff. For businesses where internet outages are rare and brief, it's usually fine. For critical operations that need 100% uptime, we'd recommend hybrid approaches or backup connectivity.

Can I still print locally?
Yes. AVD supports local printer redirection. Print from your cloud desktop to the printer next to you.

What about webcams and microphones for video calls?
Supported. Local devices redirect to your AVD session. Teams calls work natively with optimizations specifically designed for virtual desktops.

Do we need special hardware?
No. Any device that can run the Remote Desktop client works. Windows, Mac, iOS, Android, even web browsers. Some businesses use thin clients for cost savings, but regular laptops work fine.
